Donald Keith Butters
Ogden
1927 - 2008
Donald Keith Butters, our dearly loved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on June 26, 2008 of causes related to age.
He was born May 5, 1927 in Morgan, Utah, the youngest son of Parley Nash Butters and Vernocia Tonks. He attended Morgan Elementary and Secondary schools. After joining the Navy where he served as a Helmsman during World War II, Don worked at Hill Air Force Base Seat Shop. He retired in 1982 with thirty-six years of civil service.
He married his charming “honey” and best-friend, Wilma Kindred on August 4, 1950. From this union of fifty-seven years, four daughters were born, LuJean (Jack) Jones, their children, Justin (Cindy) Jones, Darci Jones, and Sean (Hollee) Jones. Peggy Allred (Gary Mifflin), her children, David (Colette) Ingram, and Andrea Schneider. Sandy (Mike) Tittle, their children, Chris Tittle, Natalie (Joshua) Fowler, Lindsay (Brandon) Fessler, and Staci Tittle. Kaye (Glen) Cummings, her children, Josh (Charis) Sully, Jessica Sully, and Brooke Sully. He is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren who he adored and loved to spend time with.
Dad loved fishing the Weber River, camping and hunting with his family and friends. He especially loved cheering for the Utah Jazz and his frequent trips to Wendover. He could always be found working outside, preening the flowers, and feeding the birds. Don truly took pride in his garden and yard. Another passion of Don’s was serving as a camp-ground Host at Rockport State Park for five years.
He is survived by his wife and daughters, one brother, Charles Blair Butters of West Valley City and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Clyde (Florence) Butters, Faye (Sherman) Jones and Gwen Simpson.
