Reid Wheeler Jensen passed away June 23, 2008 in Bluffdale Utah, at the home of his daughter surrounded by his loving family. Reid was born in Salt Lake City on June 21, 1924 to Meloye Joseph and Mabel Wheeler Jensen. Raised in Salt Lake City and attended West High. Served in the Maritime Service. Married Arlene Lola Owens on July 18, 1944. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Was a High Priest and served as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple at one time. Reid and Arlene made their home in Riverton Utah and lived there for 40 years. They have lived in Salem, Utah for the past 15 years. Owned and operated Reid Jensen and Sons Trucking and Jensen Coal in Riverton. Helped build many roads and freeways with belly dump trucks. He is survived by his wife, daughter Sherran (Boyd) Lovendahl, sons Dennis (Peggy) Jensen and Paul (Chris) Jensen. Sisters Donna (Jim) Symes and Ruth Dazely. Also 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, infant brother Paul, uncle Ivan and granddaughter Lori. The family thanks Alpine Hospice for their service at this difficult time. Funeral services will be held at the Bluffdale 7th Ward 14650 So. 3200 W.on Monday June 30, 2008 at 11:00 am. Viewing at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. Sunday night from 6-8 pm and 10-10:45 am at the church. Interment Riverton Cemetery.
