Todd Richard Hess, 46, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew and friend, returned to his Father in Heaven on June 26, 2008. He died of a sudden stroke and related injuries.
Todd was born September 20, 1961 to Vince Criddle and Suzanne Leonard Hess, the second of seven sons. His parents deem it a privilege and a blessing to have Todd as their son.
Todd was raised on a farm in Farmington, where he learned the value of hard work which stayed with him throughout his life. He graduated from Davis High School in 1979 and from Utah State University with a degree in landscape architecture. Todd served an honorable mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Adelaide Australia Mission.
Todd married Donna Lynne Flood in the Salt Lake Temple on March 22, 1985. Together they have five beautiful children, who made him very proud. Todd taught his children the virtues of work, integrity, selfless service, and love of the Savior and His Gospel. Todd loves his family without measure.
Todd served faithfully in his church callings and loved working with the youth. He was particularly kind and playful with children and will be missed by the many nieces and nephews in his family.
Todd was a loving, honest, sensitive, kind and caring person who was full of integrity. He loves his Father in Heaven, his Savior Jesus Christ, and his family.
The family appreciates those who assisted Todd in his final hours, including Postal workers, patrons, paramedics, and members of the trauma and critical care units at North Davis Hospital and IHC Intermountain Medical Center.
Todd is survived by his wife, Donna, (Kaysville); children and spouses: Jessica and Shawn Crabb, Tiffany and Matthew Ripplinger, Adam, Braden, Camden; granddaughter: Bailee; parents: Vince and Suzanne Hess (Farmington); brothers: Howard, Matthew, Christian, Craig, Nathan, Brian, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 2, 2008, at 12:00 p.m. at the Columbia Heights Ward Chapel, 9 West 550 South, Kaysville, Utah. Friends and family may call at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah on Tuesday, July 1, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., or at the Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday July 2, 2008. Interment in the Farmington City Cemetery.
