Joey Valerio, son of Joe and Lorraine Valerio of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away on June 27, at the age of 19.
Joey was a gifted athlete and a loving compassionate soul. His passions were golf, lacrosse, snowboarding and skating. Joey especially enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and biking were all some of his favorite pastimes.
Joey’s good nature and winning attitude gained him many friends and the respect of all. He was a generous person with a big heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His vivacious spirit will be deeply missed by all, especially his family.
He is survived by his parents, sister Kellie Valerio, grandmother, Susan Valerio (Tooele), and many loving uncles, aunts and cousins. Preceeded in death by grandparents, Jose Malaquias Valerio and Nelson and Lela Martinez.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, July 1, at 6:00 P.M. and the rosary will begin at 7:30 P.M. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary (6500 South Redwood Road). Mass will be held Wednesday, July 2, at St. Martin De Porres (4914 South 2200 West) at 11:00 A.M. Graveside services will follow the Mass at the West Jordan Cemetery (7925 South 1300 West.)
