Darrell Leon Skougard passed away at Kolob Rehabilition Center in Cedar City, UT, on Saturday, the 28th of June 2008. He was born in Parowan on Sept. 1, 1917 to Inez Myers and Horace Ray Skougard. Darrell was the first child of six. He was preceded in death by Melvin, Kent Leroy and Rose Marie.
He is survived by his brother Edward Lewis Skougard, and sister Kathleen Joy Millett, nieces and nephews and grandchildren. His children Sherrie and Dale Johansen, Don Mitchell and Rebecca Skougard, Richard D. Skougard, and Shirley Ann Knight of Hurricane, UT.
Darrell was a WWII Veteran along with his two brothers Kent Leroy and Edward Lewis. Darrell spent his spare time out in the Indian peaks at his dad's cabin with his brothers and his boys prospecting and helping with the mining. He loved the outdoors and breaking horses.
Graveside services will be held in the Parowan Cemetery on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at 10:00 am.
