William Francis “Bill” Haberer, 75, passed away June 29, 2008 at the Curtis Assisted Living in Glenwood, Utah. He was born June 13, 1933 in Connellsville, PA to Albert and Martha Dzymbuski Haberer. William married Fern Ruth Elliott, August 31, 1953 and had a daughter, Pamela Kay. They were divorced in 1957.

He married Joyce Ann Jerome of Cedar, Nebraska October 16, 1998. They made their home in Springfield, MO. They had one son, William Bryant “Billy”. She passed away March 12, 2008.

He was a volunteer fireman for Cypress, California, from 1963-65. He worked at Southwest Missouri State University and has given 25 years and has received many awards for his dedicated services in the custodial services department. He truly assisted in the university’s mission of producing educated persons. He retired in 2001. He had many talents, including painting, his love for music. He was accomplished in writing music and playing many instruments. He was a hard worker and took pride in all his accomplishments, including his garden. He loved to watch things grow.

William is survived by his daughter, Pamela Kay (Raymond) Jensen, Monroe; grandchildren: Candace (Kevin) Clark, OK; Michelle (Cory) Elmer, Shane (Kristina) Okerlund, Jordan Jensen, all of Monroe; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Ann; son: William Bryant; son-in-law, Les Okerlund; sisters: Eleanor, Ruth Ann, Beatrice, Edna and Mary; brothers: Norman and Albert Richard “Buck” Haberer.

Thanks go to all the care givers at the Curtis Assisted Living and Gunnison Hospice staff for their compassionate care that they gave my father; and an extra thanks to the volunteers who gave many hours of unselfish time sitting with my father.

He will be laid to rest at the Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial services will be held in the Monroe 1st Ward Relief Society Room at 11:00 on Saturday, July 5, 2008.
