Donald Vaughn Walker, 85, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather, died June 30, 2008. Donald was born January 5, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah; the son of William Fremont Walker and Mabel Catherine Gren Walker. He married Carma Virginia Larsen in 1946 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1951.

Donald graduated from West High School in 1940, one year early. He never missed a day of school as he was growing up.

As a young man, Donald loved to work with farm animals. He would feed the chickens and loved to milk the cows. He owned a horse and loved to ride. Donald worked as a commercial linoleum and tile floor layer for many years. He retired from Murray City Street Department after working 15 years as a truck driver.

One of Donald’s favorite pastimes was going camping and backpacking with his family. He loved being in the mountains and explored many of the trails in the Wasatch and Uintah Mountains. He also loved to camp and fish in the lakes up there.

He took up golf and it soon became a favorite thing. He could be frequently seen at the Mick Riley Golf Course in Murray. Later in life he would go walking around the mall for exercise. As a member of the LDS Church, Donald served as a faithful home teacher.

Donald loved his children, and his grand and great-grandchildren were all a joy to him. He loved to sit around the table and visit with those who came to the house.
